Personality:
K’mdik has the typical aggressive nature found in all Klingons, it is diminished only slightly by his Romulan half. K’mdik’s loyalty and devotion to his family and those few that he grants the title friend is almost limitless. K’mdik has a strong sense of honor and determination, which at times has caused him to butt heads with other not the least of which his superior officers from time to time but never to the point of insubordination. Slightly more at ease with species other then Klingon, as they are less at ease with his homosexuality and Romulan ancestry, K’mdik though coming off at times as cold and antisocial is nonetheless an individual willing to listen and offer as objective an opinion as possible.

Personal Background:
K’mdik was born to Dr. Setal, a Romulan woman, taken captive by his father Gorjk a Klingon rouge and pirate who had a weakness for beautiful women regardless of species and who had built himself a harem. Born on an as of then uncharted planetoid that served as base of operations of his fathers raiders and pirates’ K’mdik was the oldest of the four children fathered by Gorjk, the others less then a year and a half younger, and spent the first yrs of his life in virtual slavery until Starfleet in pursuit of one of Gorjk’s vessels and looking for one of their officers, Koloth’s mother Bjen Neryl liberated the base.

Through time and therapy K’mdik and his siblings adjusted to freedom and began living somewhat normal lives on Earth as all four mothers treated all of them as their own which greatly aided them in raising half Klingon children which the Empire was not eager to accept. Having four mothers, K’mdik was exposed to a wide variety of ideas, religions, ways of life, etc.

Though K’mdik was indeed gay, he did not have the first inklings of it until his tenth year when he met Justin MacGillicuddy, a half Betazoid, 1/4 Trill, 1/4 Terran boy a year younger then he. The two became fast friends as well as Justin becoming fast friends with his siblings and turning the "Fearsome Four" into the "Fearsome Five" as they were almost constantly finding new ways to get into trouble. During his sixteenth year K’mdik’s aptitude for trouble took an interesting turn with an experimental liaison with a Cardassian girl of about the same age resulting in not only his son Mogh being born, but also a final acceptance of his homosexuality and an admittance of the growing feelings between him and Justin which would eventually lead to their marriage shortly after his graduation from the Academy.

The birth of his son Mogh, who was incubated in an artificial womb as the parents of the Cardassian girl would not allow her to have the child and K’mdik would not allow them to murder his child, put K’mdik through his greatest challenge and he did not shrink from it putting himself in the role of father at seventeen K’mdik swore he would do a better job raising his son then his father had done for him and worked harder then he had ever done balancing school, his son, relationship with Justin, and work refusing all but the most basic help from his family and others, a fact the made his mothers very proud.

With the demands of his son K’mdik was unable to devote himself fully to Starfleet Academy when he attended but the instructors were willing to work with him and his stubborn determination to get through the Academy and become a Starfleet Officer, especially with the Borg War underway by then.

Though it took him longer to make it K’mdik graduated from Starfleet Academy with honors, his growing family filling one section of the bleachers to near capacity, and while waiting for his first posting was wed to Justin after a more then six-year engagement.
